Fireshard 2:The Crystal Experiment [video]
[Faris appears in the frame tossing a red-tinted crystal shard.]
Y'know, if we were all chosen for this I figured I'd try something.
See this crystal shard here?
Well, long story short it lets chosen warriors get powers and skill from long-dead heroes or something like that. I dunno whether it'll work for everyone, or anyone really, but why not?
[A few seconds of silence later...]
...Oh yeah, I've only got five of 'em so act quick if you want one. An' I expect 'em back.

[Boy, that sure sounds familiar.]

Yeah from my world
Didn't get their names, though, just jobs

Can I have one?
video
...How old are ya, kid?

[People keep asking that. She's starting to get a little defensive.]
1/2
2/2
[So really, who is she to judge?]
no subject
[She keeps meeting such impressive people.]
That's so cool! And you started when you were just a kid?
no subject
[Accidental parental abandonment can do that to people!]
no subject
You didn't like being a pirate? Couldn't you have just quit?
no subject
Short version is, I was dropped from a wind-drake as a babe.
[this is not a normal childhood]

[It sounds like a pretty terrible experience whatever it is.]

im guessing it only applies to heroes who actually accomplished something. like saved the world from big bads or some shit.
if thats the case youve gotta wonder where the limit is. just your world or anyones world? and if fictional heroes are real in other worlds would they count too?
[text]
Hero coulda been the wrong word.
I sure don't have any intention to lose to whatever it is we're being put up against though.
And that just makes everyone heroes-to-be or something, I dunno

[text]
Some were really good at magic but I don't have any of those
Others were really good with certain weapons
and a few are just hard to explain like beastmaster and dancer
[text]
how about thief? you got thief powers in there? or uh. ninja.
[text]
i've got ninja though
[text]
[text]
where can I find you?
[text]

[She picks up a different one.]
The ones I got with me are Geomancer, Ranger, Bard, Ninja, and Beastmaster.
[And, focusing slightly, redresses into her ninja gear. Which should be familiar to her, sort of.]
Also, they come with outfits. That's part'a the cost.
no subject
THAT NEVER HAPPENED AND YOU CANNOT MAKE HER ACKNOWLEDGE IT"...Geomancer? That actually sounds kind of interesting..."
no subject
That one's a little hard to control. It's about makin' the land work for you, and part 'a that is making sure it can't hurt ya.
That said, it'll take a little less time to fully learn from it.

"...I can get to your place in five minutes. Libra 12-01, right?"
no subject
[She is kinda squinting.]
...Never mind. Just... come on then.
Video -> Action
"I work for the government as a Visitor greeter, so I just did a search on your COMP ID. Things like apartment addresses are public record. And can you open a window? Thanks!"
With that, she shuts off her COMP.
-----------------------------
True to her word, Kotoha's there five minutes later, riding on the back of a giant moth. The moth is just hovering near the window.
"Hello the house! May I come in?"
No point in being rude, after all.
Action and suddenly prose
And then she sees the huge friendly monster. It looks nothing like her own former large monster friend but it kind of reminds her of Syldra anyway, now immortalized in plushie form (and as a summon spell, but she can't use those).
Oh. Still, moth scales in the bedroom are a pain to clean, not that she really grasps how to vacuum anyway.
"Jump in, I guess, but your friend isn't gonna fit through. She got a name?"
If she could already do this she didn't need Beastmaster, so it's a really good thing she picked Geomancer...
no subject
"His name's Solar Logos!"
no subject
He doesn't feel that great about taking up limited space, buuut-] May I try? [Because it's powers why not right]
no subject
[He's actually the first to ask that so directly... that she doesn't immediately have questions for.]
So, tell me a little about you.
[She's gonna try to get the best matches for each, though, people tend to do better at things they like (not that she can cover every base imaginable, of course).]

My name is Jonathan. I hail from the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado, where I was a Samurai. [Not that kind of Samurai, technically.] I fought demons in my home world as well.
no subject
Samurai, eh? Used to hearing that pronounced a little differently, but whatever. Never took that one myself, and that particular shard is with Krile...
Just in case, though - how much bodily harm can ya do with money?
no subject
I'm... not sure what you mean by that. [He can bribe demons to join him with money and command them to do grievous bodily harm, buuut...]
no subject
[Also, they could attack things without waking them up, but she missed that part.]
If I get that one back, you'll be first to know, Jonny.
[Yes he just got a nickname.]
no subject
...Jonny? [Nicknames aren't really a thing rather than being kinda subtle insults. Amongst the Unclean Ones, at least.]
no subject
no subject
Which reminds me. What's your name, miss?

When should I come receive the shard? Assuming you have one for me, of course.
