I have been in this city for a little over a month. So far, I have met a great number of humans, and others who, despite appearing similar to humans, are something else entirely. I must admit, this is something that interests me. What sorts of creatures live in Hinoto-Ri? What manner of anatomical diversity can be found here? I would appreciate any and all information available.

[This is the kind of knowledge that's crucial to someone like him, after all.]

What are Kodama?

"Kodama are tree spirits! They look like human figures cut in green paper and they float in the wind like leaves. They hibernate in the winter, but come Spring they'll be back to hang out. They're friendly as long as you don't harm the trees."

How curious. From that description, I can hardly imagine them having internal organs. Although, ah, if they are spirits, I suppose they wouldn't need them...

"Demon mostly feed on magatsuhi, which is life energy from humans. Eating actual human food is not required, especially for spirits like Kodama."

And... how do they go about acquiring this life energy?

Oh. Uh. Hm. Well this is delicate.

"By hanging around people... or by forcefully draining them. It doesn't help the hostility some feel toward humans."

... I see. And what is one to do for self-defense?

I'm afraid I am not yet too knowledgeable in the ways of... Persona.

"It's not easy at first, especially for people like me, who already have badass powers... but the more you use it, the stronger it becomes. And you can use the Velvet Room to get stronger Persona, too."

"I'm a demon. Or half of one. It's complicated and involves semantics to get around rules."
