I'm a Wavemaster. They're the heavy magic-users in The World. Some people go for the healing and support spec, but I went for more strong elemental spells. Though I do have some healing skills.

Ah! I see, I see. Is that the only magic-using class for The World? From what you said, it kind of sounds like Wavemasters would cover the specialties of several of the magic classes in Elder Tale.

Well, there's only six classes. I think they're thinking of putting in more, but they haven't yet. The other classes have some elemental attacks, but they can't use the weapons and items that give you the most powerful spells.

Hmm. There are twelve classes in Elder Tale. They're divided into four base classes. Let's see... There's the warrior class, the weapon-based class, healers and mages. I guess you'd probably be considered sorcerer class, ultimately. They're the ones that focus on offensive elemental spells.

How are the warrior class and the weapon-based class different?

[They both sound pretty melee. Unless the weapon-based class is more long-distance damage...]

The warrior class is the better tanking class of the two, even though guardians, samurai and monks can dish a good amount of damage.

Weapon-based classes focus on DPS- damage per second. That would be the assassins and swashbucklers, although bards are also a part of that class, even if their abilities might be more for support.

I usually solo things, so I did mostly heavy damage with healing on the side. It worked out the best in the end for my playing style.

I was mainly a solo player too! Then I got invited to play with a few others- we weren't a formal guild, all we did was do some raids together, but I guess we became pretty well-known. It was a lot of fun, playing with others, and for some of the high level quests and raids, you can't solo.

...we disbanded after some time since a lot of our party stopped logging in, but I decided to make my own guild, then.

That sounds... kind of nice. I have a group of people who were... helping me. We weren't really a guild, though one of them used to be the guildmaster of one of the most famous guilds in The World.

Oh, I'm glad to hear that! You don't need to be in a guild to make friends or help others, but I kind of like being in one now, all the same.

The Westwind Brigade's become one of the better known guilds on the Japanese server, even though we're small in number. And ever since the Apocalypse, I think we've started to see each other more as family. I wouldn't want anything to happen to any of them.

I wouldn't want anything to happen to the people who helped me, either.

['Friends' is a little bit of a hard term for some of them...]

This is Espurr. A few of us got dragged to the world of another Visitor, and that's where I met her.

I... don't actually know. It happens sometimes - we end up in a different world. We just... wake up there.

There's a lot of weird stuff here, but you'll get used to it. Probably.

That sounds like it would be confusing... It doesn't happen often, does it?

And I'm assuming that since you're here, that it's possible to come back from those worlds after.

Not really often, no.

And yeah. It's kind of a nice change of pace.
