He was, indeed, in the hospital, and wrapped up ridiculously tight in his blanket, despite having an IV going in somewhere. The only things poking out at all were his hands and his neck up...and his pokedex. It was sort of cumbersomely handled, but he eventually got the camera to focus on the entry for bulbasaur.]

it's not common where i'm from, but it's well-known as one of the best starter pokemon
i have one, but he's evolved in to a venusaur by now
he's sort of too big for me to take out in here anyway
he'd break my bed

and probably my legs

Yeah, having anything that can zap things is generally not good at hospitals. It'll affect the machines used for patients who depend on them and they could die.
