...Hello! My name is Morgan, and I'm new to this Outrealm - I mean, to this city! It's a beautiful city, by the way. I've heard a little bit about what's going on from the government workers, but there's a lot that I'm curious about. Like this "COMP." How does it work? Being able to talk to people over long distances seems amazingly valuable, tactically speaking. That is if I really am speaking to someone. It's still strange talking to myself but actually expecting other people to listen--

Sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself again. There's something more important I was wondering about. I heard that we all have a "Persona" and it's supposed to be something that represents us, right? Do I still get one if I don't know myself? You see, I have amnesia, so if this Persona thing knows a lot about me I really want to meet it.

Thanks in advance if you can answer my questions! I don't mind if you can't, though. I just think it's friendly to introduce myself when I'm in a new place.

Oh and, Mother... or any of the other Ylissean Shepherds! If anyone else is here, I think meeting up would be a good idea too.

A while back I think we got each others' memories for a little bit. I've never actually met her. [That said, of course, she is definitely interested in doing so.]

I did say "for a little bit"; it was temporary. The only thing I remember from her is... well, your birth.

I've never met anybody with amnesia but I'm sure they get a Persona too!

Yes, you get one even if you have amnesia. I know someone else who has the same problem and still has an amnesia.

That's a good point! I learn new things everyday, but not all of them are things I forgot. Or at least they probably aren't.

It's rather useful, I'll admit. I did have a hard time getting used to the idea in the beginning.

... I'm glad to see you, too. [ Let her just back track for a minute... ] Have you already talked to the others, then?

[uhhh....] Not exactly... I talked to a girl who said she'd switched memories with you somehow. In hindsight, I probably should've asked her more about that.

The instructions on how to use it? I've been looking at those. [because honestly, he wouldn't have the first idea what to do otherwise. The government workers had to show him how to switch it on...] I meant more why it works. We don't have anything like this where I'm from. If you want to talk to someone a long ways away, you have to tie a letter to a carrier pigeon.

Oh? [ Lucina's eyebrows naturally furrow in concentration. ] Ah, I see. That was a few weeks ago - I'm not sure how it happened, but nothing was permanent. [ She counts herself lucky. ]

Before I forget - Mother, Yarne, Owain and Tharja are with us, here. [ ... ] Yarne and Owain seem to remember you as... a girl, though. [ Might as well break the news early. ]

[Morgan opens his mouth to say something before Lucina finishes her sentence. When she does finish, it's still open.]

None of us entirely understand it ourselves, but... they seem to be from a different world than ours, where you and mother are opposite genders.

It hasn't affected anything else - at least, Owain and I seem to both remember the same events occurring. [ For the most part. The entire parents issue is another story altogether. ]

Can you imagine Mother as a man? Because I can't. I can't imagine myself as a girl either, but I guess I can't say for certain I've never been one before-

[It's right about now that Morgan hits on the inherent problem with this scenario.] Wait, just me and mother? Not Father, too?

Well, you've met one now! But I hope you're right. It sounds pretty interesting to be able to meet part of myself.

The COMP functions as a fusion of spiritual energy and modern nanotechnology. It's composed of a series of tiny machines that enter the bloodstream of the user and bond directly to their DNA. The nanomachines are self-aware and capable of learning just as a human is, so they will also constantly and automatically update their own capabilities and knowledge base to share with the user.

As for the voice and video functions themselves, they're transmitted via radio waves between units. Each COMP acts as a receiver for these waves, picking them up and converting the information contained within into a usable form understandable to the human eye and ear. An electronic filter is employed to separate out unwanted interference, an amplifier to increase the signal's power, with the desired information separated out by demodulation.

I've always remembered you as a brother, so it's unlikely that you were ever... a girl. I can't picture mother as a man, either... [ She's tried though. It didn't work so well.

There's a tiny bit of hesitation, then a brisk nod. ] Father's still father in that world apparently.

If you want to see yours for yourself you'll have to awaken it, and that usually means getting into trouble.
