✵ 002; [text/anonymous x2] | future dated to the 23rd

[Today, the network is greeted by yet another anonymous text message. Or rather, anonymous text messages, plural. At first, the memory merging wasn't too bad, but when the 21st happened, it was as if a switch had been flipped for the floodgates to be opened, except instead of water, it was memories. Emotionally engaging and possibly traumatic memories, at that. By then, it was much more painful for the both of them, and very clear that something was wrong.]

Greetings, Hinoto-Ri. Though I understand this may be a confusing time, we have questions we wish to ask of you humans. Or rather, it is because it is confusing that we wish to ask you all.

[There's a pause, and the typing style completely changes to one more rough and commanding. It's as if the COMP...was handed off to someone?]

Refrain from using "human", fool, you're being too obvious.

[And back again. ...Yes. Surely nobody can tell that it's those two. Surely.]

My apologies. But, does it truly matter?

[And again.]

That's irrelevant.

Hinoto-Ri, to be frank: my associate and I have observed an unusual peculiarity relating to memories within this city, and are asking if any others have noticed this as well. How many of you suffer from memories that do not belong to you? Are you aware of the cause?

Possibly. The only way to learn this is to ask as many people as possible and see if some prior relationship - friendly or otherwise - is required for this 'memory bleed'.

I am concerned however... what long term effects would this have on the human mind? To access memories that do not actually exist within that person's brain - it could possibly cause enough 'errors' that reduction of mental stability could occur.

[Kaito stares at what Yamato just typed before shaking his head and continuing on.]

Ssssssoooooo like you mean an identity crisis or something?

In a way. Do you know what happens if you delete things from a computer's registry? The computer will crash, or corrupt data, or just stop working entirely. Imagine the mind like that in regards to these foreign memories. People's personalities and viewpoints are shaped by the experiences in their lives, so if they suddenly have memories of different experiences, the 'registry' of their mind is being edited to accommodate that. However, as the mind doesn't actually have those memories, and never truly experienced them... the editing is more like a corruption - to put it very very simply.

So you see? Long term effects could end in the mind collapsing from the strain or confusion.

That is why it is important that we find some sort of link about this, be it the cause or anything else... I do not want a mental lobotomy.

[Blank staring at the screen.]

Right, yeah. [At least he thinks he's getting the point...]

You're okay right now though, right?
drakenguard: (completely done)

You keep asking that despite getting an answer. Yes. I am fine. Mildly disorientated, perhaps, but that is understandable considering Alcor's memories are as ridiculous as he is.

?

I was merely discussing the ramifications of an event such as this. I was unaware that it came across as a point of concern.

[Well then, this style of speech was odd for Yamato]

Mm? Is this to your liking?

Yeah, perfect. Now just talk about whatever. Humor me.

[It doesn't matter about WHAT, just so Kaito can hear how he's actually talking, his tone, etcetera....]

...

[Yamato frowned in thought, pressing his hand against his mouth as he looked away. Talk about whatever? Hrm, put on the spot, Yamato suddenly found himself a bit unsure on what he should talk about...]

I think you will need to give me a bit more than that, Kaito. A subject, perhaps? I find myself a bit uncertain on what I should discuss when asked so abruptly.

Specifically which part? Demon Summoning is a vast and complex subject with many levels of rules and traditions. Such as, depending upon what family you were born as, the style of summoning would be radically different to another's. As such, the rules - how much Macca, how much Magnetite, how negotiations occur - are subject to such change as well.

You haven't? Well-

[Sudden pause as Yamato looked off screen]

Ah. My apologies. This discussion will have to occur at a later date. I have something to take care of. Alcor may answer your questions in my stead .

[And with that...logs off]
