In that regard, I don't think we are at odds, though philosophically we may be seeking the same goal for different reasons.

I've been in enough fights to be okay with that. So long as your idea of winning doesn't involve sacrificing the people here, we should get along just fine.

While innocents may sometimes die so that a greater good can be achieved, it is a rare thing and not to be undertaken lightly. I can foresee no such circumstance here, beyond the price that is paid for any victory in war.
