1st Pokeball - An Unwelcome Prank

The camera feed snaps on suddenly, revealing a creature somewhat like a fox staring directly into it before winking and placing a finger to its lips. It snaps to attention as a young-sounding voice calls out from behind it.

"Okay, Zoroark, time for rehearsal! Today it's Brycen-Man, okay?"

The outline of the fox-like creature - Zoroark? - shimmers and distorts, resolving into a strangely-dressed man. It walks away from the camera and takes up a stance across from a young girl in an equally outlandish outfit, who clears her throat before drawing herself up and pointing directly at the masked man the fox turned into.

"Hold it! The Messenger of Truth and Ideals, Riolu Girl, is here! Stop right there, Brycen-Man! I cannot allow your mischief!"

The masked man laughs at this. He snickers so hard, in fact, that the illusion drops, leaving Riolu Girl staring at him, completely unsure of what's so funny. Still snickering, the fox points at the video feed with one finger, the masked girl looking in that direction. Her eyes wide behind her mask, she scrambles for the table the COMP is resting on.

"AAAA! That's not funny, Zoroark!"

Staring directly into the video feed, she starts babbling frantically.

"You didn't see that! NOBODY SAW THAT. THERE WAS NOTHING TO SEE."

[ At her age? Mikale finds this impressive. He must be the presence/indirect presence of someone really talented. ]

Oh, right, sorry, uhh... Are you working here? Doing a show or something?

If you ask her, she'd be the first to say she's a genius - although you'd be wise to take that claim with a grain of salt.

"Nah, I'm just doing this so I don't get too rusty. Even natural talent like mine doesn't mean much if it's not supported by hard work!"

Who's Riolu-Girl? TV show character?

"Brycen-Man vs. Riolu Girl is a movie, actually! A trilogy."

She grins.

"Originally it was a one-off, but as I got more popular people kept looking it up to see my debut! So they went ahead and made a couple of sequels."

A movie... Wait, are you a movie star?!

Kotoha traces out a ridiculously overblown and florid bow, glancing up at the end with a sly grin at her own dramatics.

"Kotoha, up and coming star of Pokestar Studios, at your service!"

She straightens herself up with a little bounce, her grin widening into an outright smile as she rocks back and forth on her heels.

"I started off as Riolu Girl, and I did well enough that Takashi Pokémi wanted me for the heroine of the Invaders Quartet. And that did well enough that I just kept getting more offers!"

[ Mikale's cheeks have been slowly turning red. Talking to strangers is already out of the norm for him and something he's truly been struggling with, but talking to a movie star? Sure, he has never heard of her from anyone but herself. But she's a movie star and he's a commoner!

It occurs to him that he is probably wasting her time moreso than he wastes an average person's time. ]

Sorry, I guess... I'll get out of your hair then. You must be busy.

"Nah, not really! Stick around and chat a little! I'm Kotoha, what's your name?"
