"Hello, Hinoto-Ri. The name's Hidari Shoutarou, and I'm here with some news for you all, and a couple of questions.

To start, a rather unexpected thing has happened - whatever strange powers surround this place have seen fit to bring my detective agency building here. I suppose that means I'm stuck here for the long haul, I may as well start offering my services as a private detective. Just come see me in Pisces district, at the Narumi Detective Agency."

There's a pause, then Shou frowns and huffs. "...of course, whoever brought it here has a hell of a sense of humor, and put it across the street from the other Narumi Detective Agency..." The camera jerks, and points to the other one for a moment.

"The city's still working on getting power connected to the building, but I'm gonna call it open for business anyway now that I've moved in."

He clears his throat, and looks just a little more serious. "As for the questions - has anyone here heard of the Transmigration 9? It was where I was before I wound up here. Just wondering if any other crewmembers are here. My other question..." His face turns a bit awkward at this point. "...does anyone have any advice on taking care of a kitten? I've dealt with an adult cat that knows how to behave already before, to a degree, but a kitten is outside my experience."

i know a lot about cats, i can try to help.

Best to get them litter trained as soon as possible. They're usually pretty instinctive, but if it looks like they're going to go to the bath room, hurry up and get them into a litter box. They can figure it out from there after a few times.

Might want to surround the litter box with newspaper though. Just in case.

Ah, damn, I couldn't say. The extent of my knowledge of cats is 'feed it, water it, change the litter, and take it to the vet if something goes wrong'. It's young enough that it doesn't know to use the litterbox or to stay out of anything not nailed down.

That's all there is to it? Really? I'd expect it to be more complicated than that...

but do you still have the adult cat? even if they aren't related, the older may help the younger "get" the cat box faster than your own efforts.

Well, can't blame a guy for hoping they could, eh?

I do, but... He's not very, ah, responsive to anyone but his actual owner, so I don't think he'd be any help in this situation.

not really. cats are the kind of pet that make you cross your fingers, despite knowing better.

he shuns the kitten? aw, that's sad. if he's an old tom, that's pretty common i guess.

what the other guy said applies- show him the catbox, make it accessible and in a place he can easily see, and newspaper the area. i wouldn't get a covered one until he's mastered it, either.

oh, and make sure you get organic litter, some kittens will attempt to eat it and can get sick.

You need to remember too that once you invite a pet into your home, it becomes part of your family. Even though cats are independent, they still need someone to pick them up and love them every now and then.

Otherwise they might just get spiteful and do things on purpose.

...How old is it?

They're certainly something, to say the least.

Not sure how old he is either - just know he's pretty cranky overall.

I'm not sure the little guy can get sick. He's ate a lot of stuff he shouldn't and, well, had no ill effects that I can see.

Well, I didn't exactly invite him - just came home one day and he was hanging out in the agency and bugging the older cat. And now I'm here, and so's he.

I'm really just being a cat-sitter, as pets are more my partner's thing. I'll do what I've got to, and hope he shows up eventually.

Well, is he running around? Or is he not, or just walking uncoordinated? You can also get a good guess by seeing if he's got teeth yet and if his eyes are still blue.

Not really, no - the older cat belongs to my partner. I'm taking care of it until either I go back, or he shows up.

Yeah, kitten showed up there a little before I wound up here. Little guy seemed kinda lost and aimless.

Yeah, he's runnin' around and making trouble. Definitely got teeth. Old enough to misbehave, young enough to not know better, I guess is a good way to put it.
