When the video starts, one will see Shoutarou standing outside of a pool hall - he adjusts his hat a bit before speaking.

"Hello, Hinoto-Ri. The name's Hidari Shoutarou, and I'm here with some news for you all, and a couple of questions.

To start, a rather unexpected thing has happened - whatever strange powers surround this place have seen fit to bring my detective agency building here. I suppose that means I'm stuck here for the long haul, I may as well start offering my services as a private detective. Just come see me in Pisces district, at the Narumi Detective Agency."

There's a pause, then Shou frowns and huffs. "...of course, whoever brought it here has a hell of a sense of humor, and put it across the street from the other Narumi Detective Agency..." The camera jerks, and points to the other one for a moment.

"The city's still working on getting power connected to the building, but I'm gonna call it open for business anyway now that I've moved in."

He clears his throat, and looks just a little more serious. "As for the questions - has anyone here heard of the Transmigration 9? It was where I was before I wound up here. Just wondering if any other crewmembers are here. My other question..." His face turns a bit awkward at this point. "...does anyone have any advice on taking care of a kitten? I've dealt with an adult cat that knows how to behave already before, to a degree, but a kitten is outside my experience."

[Yu... has to stop and stare for a moment. H-how... how could anyone not want a cat? They were so precious, and... and...!]

You'd be surprised how attached you can get to an animal.

[Shou nods a couple of times.]

[He squints a bit at the screen, obviously thinking a bit. Lady looks familiar...]

I used to be a part of the Federation Police in my world, though I imagine your circumstances were different. I'm simply wondering if it was a stray ship within my universe...

You were out in space correct? Does the Galactic Federation sound familiar to you?

[So far the only other person she's met from her world has been Gandrayda. While one was definitely more than none, she still made the effort to seek out others.]

[... Oh. So you're the one who's set up shop on the other side.]

Two agencies would be confusing to anyone wanting a specific service. [Just... stating a fact. Though knowing Narumi, he might think of it as a rival.]

Can it eat solid food? Or is it still too small?

I couldn't do that - my partner would kill me if I got rid of his cat. The little one, though... Much as he gets on my nerves, he's still someone that needs help.

It's possible. I know there were a number of cats on the ship, it's possible he's one of theirs.

I don't mind - just make sure it's the agency by the pool hall, not the other one.

[BUT THEY'RE NOT HARD-BOILED.]

Well, I got attached enough to not throw him out. I might not be a cat person over all, but I'm not heartless.

I did not! That was a noise of surprise! More of a 'whoooah', not a squeak! Hard-boiled men don't squeak!

Yeah, we weren't really a very-well-organized bunch, to say the least. We were out in space, but never heard of a 'Galactic Federation'. There was a group called the Greater Interdimensional Alliance that we did some work with from time to time, though.

[Shou frowns at the statement, and looks suitably annoyed to go with it.]

I know, but I didn't exactly ask for my building to be put right here - and I'm not about to change the name. It's been like this for years!

Solid food, solid objects that it really shouldn't but doesn't seem bothered, my patience...

[That last bit is rather quiet and under Shoutarou's breath.]

i'll stop by in a couple days when i'm settled. i might actually be able to take him, if you're struggling with him. if he's as much of a handful as you say, it might be bad to have him around customers.

Set it up with a dish of solid cat food, then, along with some water. If it's not already, you should look into training it to use a litterbox. You should probably also look at getting it to a vet to make sure it doesn't have any health problems, and to let them tell you of any health problems particular to the breed to watch out for.

[He's... not sure how he remembers all of this. Strange...]

[Sigh... nope, not her universe then, or at least not her galaxy.]

Alright, I apologize, it must not have been my world. The name's Samus Aran, by the way. I worked for the Federation in my world as a freelance bounty hunter.

Alright - putting him in the hands of someone who knows cats better than me is likely a good idea, so I'm all for it. The less potential customer annoyances, the better.

[At least, he says that over the COMP, but in actuality? Let's just say while he's glad for it to be empty at this moment, what he said isn't entirely true.

He didn't expect this to take a turn for missing folks from home, or their tendencies to put off potential customers...]

[He sighs, but gives Samus a somber smile.]

Hidari Shoutarou, private detective - and no need to apologize. Been in your shoes all too often myself.

Is there even a vet in a place like this? Still pretty new to Hinoto-Ri, myself, and haven't really had access to one over the past... God knows how long I was on that ship.

I know there's a few pet stores. They should be able to point you to at least one place you can get the kitten checked out at.

You hardly seem hard or boiled in any way, Squeakers!

[Oh now she's changed titles.]

But hey! Tell me more about me! If what you're saying is even true, anyway. [She changes her mind about these things pretty quickly. Also a chance of someone telling HER how SHE'S great. How could she even think of passing that up?]

It's been some trouble... Most of those who have been crossing into this place that do come from my world are dark creatures, that wish for destruction.

I'm used to working alone, though... I suppose it doesn't really matter which world my allies come from.

So you run investigations, then? We could use more investigators in a place as strange as this.

[Well, there's a quick change to a frown.]

So we're not the only things coming from our worlds...? That doesn't bode well at all.

[He nods.] I do, and I'll be able to do so properly now - at least once the power's connected.

[There's a growling noise, but he'll take the chance to divert the topic away from that horrendous nickname, that's for sure.]

Well, you nearly sacrificed yourself to help protect an entire planet once...

Unfortunately, no. Some force is drawing creatures from our worlds as well. I highly doubt it's the same entity that has been drawing us here, however.

[She gives a small salute in acknowledgment.]

I wish you luck, perhaps we will be working together sometime in the future.
