[Mia's been searching the city. First by foot, and then by network. Scrolling through post after post, ignoring most commentary unless it so amused her, until she finally comes to a realization.]

I left him behind, again. ...No. This time, I'm the one left behind.

[There's that terse silence.]

That was pointless to post. Instead, listen to these words:

Well... it is interesting. And true! You lose out on plenty of opportunities if you reject change. I could see why people do it, though. Change can be a scary thing, even if it's not all that drastic.

I can understand fear of loss. But not all change is loss. Do you fear change, itself, if the change does not mean loss?

[Whoa, wait. Mia might be odd, and Blues has figured that out from his few interactions with her but this is... weirder.

[Mia puts up a filter immediately. Which is strange, because she does not at all acknowledge his question. Her tone is mostly that same curious tone that she usually has, but there's a more somber pitch to it.]

[Sigh, he notices that. And there is a filter of his own since he's a private person he gets that.]

Yes, it is. But it's not really something I feel I can talk about very well, since some kinds of change can completely destroy who you are.

Evolution is change, for better or for worse. If you're going to embrace change you have to allow for the bad with the good. Outside of extreme measures, there's no way to properly predict or control such things.

[There's a long pause. That statement strikes true in Mia, though she doesn't know or understand why.]

...I feel as though I know that. But I can't explain why...

[Man now he kind of feels bad... which probably isn't something Mia would want to hear, pity that is.]

That to change for the sake of change is better for the whole than to expect personal victory.

And in allowing for change, desired or not, you allow for victory you might have previously thought lost.

Victory... that's an interesting word. I don't hear that very often. What do you perceive as a victory?

To me, victory is many things.

To crush my enemy, foremost, is victory. By my own hands and the hands of my own preferably, though through a third party is also accessible. And all the things that come from the defeat of my enemy is victory. Freedom is victory. Coexistence is victory. Evolution is victory.

I think, perhaps, a more relevant question, however, would be what freedom is to you.

It's a simple fact. You have to take what happens regardless of whether you like it or not.

We're not always dealt favourable cards.

It's not! Change can also add onto something.

[But... he doesn't really fear change. At least, not after what happened, and figuring out who he is.]

I don't fear it. Not anymore, at least.
