Things are exciting here. More and more exciting. There is even a tournament! I have never participated in one before - it is a friendly contest thing, yes? I cannot wait to see how everyone performs. The aim is to win, so everyone will be fighting to the best of their ability, to beyond their very limits, otherwise the win is tainted, yes?

There is a question to be asked.

Hatred and Love is viewed in equal measure. Humans normally say love is worth more. In recent months, I have seen media that espouses that love will always succeed over hatred. Hatred is inferior. It sustains only the self, but it is like poison also. Pure intentions become twisted, revenge distorts the mind and morals, and eventually hatred destroys the individual...

I must admit, this confuses me. I have observed no such things in humanity before. Ah, the corruption, yes, but hatred has sustained and protected humans as much as it has poisoned them. It is usually love that brings about self-destruction, as they hold another's life higher than their own.

So, I have always viewed hatred and love being of equal measure. They are different, yet powerful in their own right. It is like that saying, what, pears and lemons? Apples and peaches? Whatever.

So my question is thus: what do you think is more powerful or more important? Hatred or Love?

Ah, my apologies. We have digressed greatly from our original point of conversation.

I don't mind. I wasn't a fan of the original topic either way.

I do not say better than the other, simply more... impacting.

It is far easier to destroy the things around you than to intentionally sacrifice yourself. Both forms of death, yes, but with two entirely different intentions.

I can agree, that they're both very powerful emotions. Ones that can change the world.

... when it comes down to it, though, I think love is the stronger one. Love of the world, love of your friends, of your family... it's the force that guides many to do what they do. Hatred does the same, yes, but... love seems to leave the strongest impact.

At least, to me.

That's true if you use "love" and "hate" as categories for human emotion instead of specific feelings. Can't have motivations without some emotional aspect to it! ★

I like seeing people's reactions too~ Even if it's not on the scale you seem to have.

motivations require emotional aspect. how can they be motivations otherwise. it is fascinating to watch isnt it. i enjoy it greatly. i love it. i love watching them forge their own paths. even if it brings their destruction.

Is it the intentions that matter then?

I value all intents, be they for good or ill. There is no fixed moral standpoint anyway, due to individual views of the world. How to say... with each individual, there is only one world, and that is their perspective of the world. I suppose 'love' would be when they acknowledge that other worlds exist, worlds of other people, and value that world higher than their own.

And yet some people do, or become obsessed with such things. It's really rather pathetic. And dangerous, at times.

I once heard of a man who loved someone so much he tried to destroy them. Is that a human thing, then, based on your way of seeing things?

Love.

With hatred, you want to destroy or hurt. And that just leads to more bad feeling and more anger and everything. It just... doesn't seem to really go anywhere.

With love... Love is caring, wanting to do good. It's when you want someone to be happy, and in the end... doing something out of love can go a long way. Maybe it does lead to self-destruction, but love can sometimes mean that - destroying yourself for so many people you love and care about, helping them and protecting them, even if it doesn't do any good for you at all.

Hatred doesn't do anything like that. It doesn't care.

You do not like to discuss emotions and their ramifications upon one's motivations and choices? What a shame.

But allow me to be flexible! What sort of topics do you enjoy?

Or that they become blinded by the bigger picture, and it causes their actions their current situation to skirt the morality line - or rather, what constitutes as morality in that region, or world, or universe.

I like that though. Their ignorance and blindness and wilful denial is why they achieve the things they can. Refusal to give up, haha, that can be seen as stupidity, yes?

Ah, confusing. Some humans do not acknowledge the emotions, some humans shun it, some revel in it, some become obsessed, and they are so contrary!

Ah. Yes. I understand that. Love holds the possibility of rescue, yet it burns you to ashes, it always does.

It is more terrifying, as it willingly brings about the death of the person. At least with hatred it supports self-preservation.

Yes, I believe I am to be fighting in that. I think. I was curious to observe Persona battles up close, but it appears I am expected to fight as well. I do not like deliberately hurting humans though...

But love is always accompanied by hate, just as hate is accompanied by love. To say you purely love one thing - is that but a lie? If you love something, you will hate to see that thing hurt. If you hate something, you will love to see that thing hurt. So how can one be stronger than the other...?

It truly is confusing me.

But that does not mean love is superior to hatred.

Let me put forth an example, as multiple people have misunderstood me. My apologies for not being clear! To use your example, if you protect someone out of love, it is because you hate to see them hurt, yes? So you are feeling both love and hatred in equal measure. The more you love someone, the more you hate to see them upset or hurt.

So wouldn't that mean that you protect them out of hatred, that hatred is the strongest emotion?

Allow me to put forth another example.

You hate someone so much that you love to see them writhe in agony. You wish to see them suffer. You love to see their agony. So you hurt them. So wouldn't that mean that you destroy them out of love, that love is the strongest emotion?

To say that one purely does this and that, when in fact those two emotions are deeply intwined, born from passion, from the same source... I do not understand.

You need both!
