It's a cake made from pounded rice. I like the fruit-filled and red bean-filled ones both!

((I'm really embarrassed when I can't get a grip on udon. ;_; I guess that's what the spoon is for, though: to sort of catch the bottom part so they don't splash back down in that case.))
