[It took a while for him to figure out how this network device worked. Most of the technology talk went over his head during the initial greeting before the attack happened, so up until this time he was figuring how to work this shining piece of wizardry. Video posts still make him jump, so he'll never be using that option himself.

The recording clicks on and there's a short silence before someone clears his voice.]

Since I'll be around this place for a while, I figure I should use this communication method to introduce myself. Name's Kisuke, I come from a different time from this world. Ancient Japan, if you want to be specific. Large castles, samurais, ninjas, things that's on some... [There's a mumble of something like "wizardry"] ...vi-de-o things, along with some youkai spirits to the mix.

Not sure what else to say about myself, but nice to meet you all.

Good day, hime. I hope the terrorist and demon ambush the other day didn't harm you. I wanted to stay by your side to fight along side you, but I suppose I can't be selfish when it's not just us two anymore. On my part of the mission, I ran into your sister, Momohime. She was going on by another name, Oboro... Have you seen her already? I have some guesses of what might have happened...

[He takes a small pause, where he's scratching his cheek, unsure how to continue talking.]

...It's kinda awkward talking to this steel bracelet thing.

I'd just like to take this time to point out that I have absolutely no problems with ninjas whatsoever.

I actually saw her shortly after we were done talking at the party before then. My experience with her is similar to yours, from the sound of it. What do you think happened?

She's mastered the Oboro style... The same sword style I use. I didn't see any signs of her being possessed like what happened in my "world."

Remember how I didn't remember you at first when we met up again? Turns out this Momohime that's here with us went through the same thing as me. Dunno what exactly happened, but someone who knew Oboro style fused their soul with hers to bring her back to life.

Well... that's my guess from experience.

[Ancient Japan, eh? Oersted thinks a little on this. The topic is surprisingly nostalgic for a knight who lived in a different part of the world let alone a different era. Oboro, one of the heroes that fought his incarnation, was summoned from that era not to mention.]

Feudal Japan was as its name would almost imply. There was no end to the feuds that its ruling families started against one another. All for the acquisition of power.

Though when war can be avoided, assassination was a favorite political tool for the period's daimyo. Ninjas indeed.

That name sounds familiar! I met your ladyfriend when we first arrived, I think. I'm Maya.

[Look at this ~~fangirl~~ incredibly interested young lady!!] I once requested my guest to deliver to me the helmet of a samurai, and while I was here I met a young lady with such a helmet. She said if she ever acquired another, she would perhaps give it to me.

[So this person seemed to know well enough of where he was coming from.]

I was just a lowly genin so if I could survive another day, that was good enough for me. Not that I'd be living the same way now.

[Especially with the person who he holds so dear to him also alive in this world.]

The last time I checked, it was Genroku era. Tokugawa Tsunayoshi was the ruling Shogun. Ring a bell for you?

[It's be nice, at least for Kisuke, to find someone from a similar time line.]

...As much as I hate to admit it, that might be the case. If I remember right, Oboro style does have a technique where the user can fuse souls with another person.

It's funny how things sometimes work out. Sometimes a little luck goes a long way!

[Kisuke can't help but smile at that. Well it is Torahime they were talking about (supposedly).] Can't lie about that, yeah. If I hadn't met her, I'd still be a lowly ninja not knowing about trust.

Being a ninja is not a solo profession?

You can say that again. If it weren't for this strange world, I wouldn't have seen Torahime ever again.

Can be, but it'll be a lot harder to accomplish missions. Unless you're confident with your skills, it's like jumping into death if you're on your own.

Yes, but I'm afraid from the year I'm aware of, that man has been dead for at least a century.

[Come to think of it, it was Oboro's ally that opposed the Tokugawa shogunate, wasn't he? Oersted wonders whether the man is under Tokugawa's employ.]

The soul of the user... Disappears, in a way. If I remember right, the old geezer who saved my life said something about he didn't care what happened to his soul if it meant the Oboro style living on.

[A skill he probably would not use unless something happens to Torahime, yep.]

[He goes quiet for a moment. Talking about seeing Torahime pass on to the heavens wasn't exactly something he'd want to talk about, it felt like it'd be a jinx.]

It's probably mean the demon spirit wasn't heartless. No way to find out about the truth now though. [Unless the spirit ends up in this world, there's no way to confirm it.]

I'm trying out a job. I did some cooking on my own back in...our world, so I figured it'd be a nice challenge to sell some cooking while we're here.
