For the longest time I thought policemen were from Down There. It turns out they thought policemen were created by Up There.

Neither was responsible. Policemen are a terribly confusing human thing.

Yes, everything here is certainly different... I imagine it's quite different for everyone who arrives, not just ourselves. If you want my advice, you are right that it's a good idea to be careful around demons, but to go by the assumption that they are all malevolent isn't exactly conducive to a healthy mind, is it? Many of them are citizens of the city. You'd be living in constant fear for very little reason if you believed that every one of them was terribly evil and out to get you.

I mean goodness, people tend to be just as capable of such terrible things as demons. Usually worse, really. But that is no reason to be paranoid of all of them, it just doesn't do any good to live in that sort of fear.
