Am I the only one here who comes from a world that has unwinding?

Or summary division if you want to call it that.

... There's a number of reasons people do it. I don't happen to think they're very good reasons.

I can't think of any reason someone would want to do that.

Having a 'problem child'. Having a child you never wanted. Religious reasons. Those are the major ones.

The first two reasons just sound like someone being irresponsible.

No one picks to do it - their parents do.

And I've met a lot of people who were intended for unwinding.

It should at least be a choice people are able to make for themselves.

I used to be one of those people who wanted to be unwound.

Why?

I was told that we should give a tenth of everything we had to God. I was the tenth child. It made sense to me at the time.

Even children?

What changed your mind?

I ended up getting kidnapped on my way to the harvest camp, actually. One of the other unwinds wasn't so ready to go.

What happened then?

I'd honestly rather not get into the details.
