"Hello. I know the last few weeks have been hard on everyone but I was wondering something. I've gotten the onsen on the Nadesico working and at full power, and if anyone was interested in spending some time there I was considering opening them on the 1st of November. I know there is a big party on Halloween for the town and have no intentions of disrupting it, but I also know that a nice soak can feel very nice, especially in times like this. If anyone would be interested in something like this let me know so I can start to prep the systems."

"Also Omoikane has access to a nearly unlimited supply of bad animated films from my Earth. I can probably set up a viewing room and at least get in a viewing of Gekiganger III. Maybe a few magical girl shows too."

"The crew of the Nadesico was hyper specialized in their various fields and not part of the regular military so I suspect unconventional would be the best description. That being said she was one of the first people to actually see me as a human being and I miss her very much."

"Oh? Did you come from a ship like that too?"

Well, originally it was just Giado and Garnet, who were pretty normal. The kindest people I've ever met, and not what you'd expect of soldiers, but not really that strange, except when Garnet wanted to dress me up.

Then we joined up with the Hagane, though...the crew was a very...interesting group of people. Then there was the Hiryu crew, Princess Shine, and everyone else who joined up. It got a little hectic.

"Minato-san liked dressing me up as well. Her and Houmei-san. I didn't really see a reason for anything but uniforms given we were in space but they wouldn't have it."

Ruri ponders for a second.

"You knew a princess? That was data I never got good information on."

[She nods. Both in acknowledgement of Ruri's question and to agree that she would never understand adult women.]

Princess Shine Hausen of Riksent. We saved her from a kidnapping attempt, and then from a military takeover of her country. She didn't have any military training, but she signed on with the EFA and learned quickly enough that she and I were able to fly as partners for a while.

"I see. Royalty is something I should have studied but never really did."

Why is that? Why should you have, I mean, Riksent is kind of the exception in having a monarchy that's still relevant, since they're wealthy enough of a nation to have special status in the Federation.

"My genetic parents are royalty, though I don't have much exposure to them given my position."

Wait, you're a princess too?

She shrugs a bit.

"The eldest daughter of the King of the nation of Peaceland. I'm not entirely certain that counts."

Well, it sounds like it does...although it sounds like you were adopted, too, so I guess you're not the heir to the throne or anything.

Still, this makes two more princesses than I ever expected to meet...

"I have 5 brothers, and succession travels along the male heir. That and they didn't even know I was alive till I was 12. I was lost shortly after conception, but before I could be implanted in my biological mother due to a terrorist bombing of the lab I was conceived in from what I was told."

"I've really just always been Ruri, thought I generally wear a nice dress when I visit Peaceland."

That sounds really complicated...but I'm glad you were able to figure all that out.

Being "just Ruri" is probably better in the long run than being a princess, anyway. Your job seems to suit you better than Princess Shine's would.

"I don't know what her duties were, but I really do not envy her for having whatever they are."
