Kinda? I'm pretty sure that's how it worked anyway. We beat up this "administrator" guy and put someone else in his place, so I guess that replaced him for like, all of time and space or something.

Even as a Jedi, that seems a little above my pay grade, philosophically. A fire destroys and creates anew, though, which is a little bit like what you just described.
