So I've been wondering. Does being a guy or girl change anything in your world? Like, do they get treated differently? Do some people not want one or the other? What do they do if they get a kid of the gender they don't want?

Don't get stupid and start flame wars or something here. I'm just asking.

it's just...i dunno, most people that have kids don't have time to worry about gender

but really, i don't have much to share on this topic - back home, the closest i ever got to being treated different was a few guys basically forgetting i was a woman in the first place and then getting really awkward when they saw my chest

the thing that sticks in my mind was the time one of them just started listing the 'charm points' of all the active-duty females, remembered i was a woman, and just kind of grinned nervously while telling me i was pretty too

People will always have preference, either for personal reasons no matter how stupid. In society, on Earth there is generally no difference other than a few cultural ones. On Jupiter, their culture is somewhat sexist and they're getting over it.

That being said, I think people raise children as children. They are still genetically linked and just throwing a person away is terrible.

Because someone has to, and it might as well be me? It's not really that complicated - I want to be the kind of person people rely on, so I conduct myself that way.
