[When the view pans up, a very tired...and annoyed Eikichi sighs overly-dramatically.]

It's terrible! I need serious help here!

[He them moves the camera over to a giant creature taking nearly half of the kitchen, its tail reaching right into the bathroom. It looks fairly unimpressed with the fruit in front of him, and also bored.]

Koi's been turned into this...giant thing ever since we were in the temple, but now I have no idea what to give him as food, and he takes up so much place!

I didn't know fish puberty would hit him so bad!

[Although he does approve of his new color. Not that he'll talk about that.]

He knew about that part a little too well. But that barely helped!

"But how did it go from a fish to...that?!"

Slight pause before replying.

"...I guess I forgot to tell you what Magikarp evolve into, didn't I?"

To be fair, Eikichi had sounded like the least enthusiastic person to have a fish. More like he kept screaming when the Magikarp bonded with him at all...but still, behind him there was a giant waterfish tank that had been its home. Despite all of it, Eikichi had been taking good care of him.

"It's not a detail anyone should be 'forgetting!' What should I feed him now? How much does he need?"

Will his budget allow him to make it?

"Well, you know, the usual stuff you feed Pokemon - berries, chocolate, milk, lemonade, macarons...maybe some fish, I dunno."

Slight pause.

"Oh, and...just so you know, Gyarados are infamous for their violent tempers; there have been entire cities wiped out when one of them goes on a rampage...supposedly."

[deathboss]

You know, normally he'd just be screaming at this point, but he's eerily calm...

"Entire cities. Wiped out. I came back with something that can evolve into a city destructor to help in a city that is trying to stop from being destroyed.."

"Yeah, I didn't quite get it either at first but if I forgot to tell you it starts making sense."

"Fish puberty." Whatever happened to that creature, I'm fairly certain that "puberty" does not cover it.

"THAT'S NOT A GOOD ANSWER!!!" He grabs the Gyrados by the lip and shakes it a bit. At leas the Gyrados looks like it doesn't mind too much...

"LOOK AT IT!!!"

At this point it was obvious who was acting more like a Gyrados than the Gyrados itself.

"What is it called anyway?!"

What is that?

That's my monthly salary going down the drain in food for that thing!!

It just evolved into a series of flashing lights while we were in the temple and suddenly I had this giant 6 meter long snake!!

[This is the sound of a despair slowly taking down a man.]

Don't say that while he's out, he'll hear you!! You can't just tell a guy that he doesn't look friendly!

[By which the Gyrados looks like it doesn't seem insulted at all. Just...bored.]

Oh, wow! He looks really cool now! Is that the one you got from the adventure with Kotoha?

[Fei the Fennekin peeks at the screen, takes one look at the Gyarados, and bolts into a corner.]

Oh right, he had kinda missed that with his mind just repeating GIANT CITY RAMPAGE over and over in his head. Slowly he looks back to his evolved Pokemon.

"...cute?" Well at least he didn't have the fishy eyes anymore. More like giant monster eyes. But he did have a certain...dignity to him. "I guess he's cute."

Well I had taken him out to fight, but since he was this tiny....fish....it was mostly me swinging it around.

[Eikcihi is very bad with fish in general. The eyes. The eyes...he shivers as he speaks, thinking about it.]

Maybe it's like when we first used Persona. It felt threatened to it evolved?

[Hell if he knows, but he sure is gonna act like he knows something!]

I'm not sure. I may have to get a bigger apartment cause I can't really put him in the aquarium anymore...

[Speak for yourself, Eikichi. The first time this guy ever used his Persona was in the middle of a lab. He frowns, though, nods-]

Frankly, without knowing more of the species in question, I'm not sure I can make a qualified judgement. It seems as likely a theory as any for the moment, though, the stressful conditions causing the change...
...although as far as 'stress' goes, your swinging it around likely wasn't too helpful.
