[The video feed turns on to reveal a beautiful young woman who actually...doesn't seem all that confused or angered at her current situation. These new surroundings were interesting, to say the least. Something new, something to learn about. Even figuring out this odd device was an amusing experience. Yes, she'd been taken out of her own world, or so it seemed, but that didn't bother her all that much. If she'd been taken out, there was obviously a way to be put back in.

But she has no reason to rush. She smiles as she begins to speak.]

Well now, this is certainly an intriguing turn of events. While I'm not exactly sure how or why I am here, I can't say I'm disappointed.

[Honestly. If anything, this was an opportunity, and she wouldn't let it go to waste.]

Might anyone be able to tell me more about this city? I'm very interested in learning more about it. The buildings, the inhabitants, the history, all of it. If anyone is capable of providing me with such information, please contact me.

I'll be waiting.

[She offers a quaint wave of farewell as she ends the feed.]

"Hi! My name's Kotoha, it's nice to meet you! Here, I'll be sending a text file to your COMP explaining why you're here, okay?"

BEEP BOOP COMPUTERY NOISES

"And if you want to know about the city itself, just give me a moment to grab my notes."

[ A huge glaring helmet pops onto the screen. ]

You seem reasonably calm about all this. Good.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Kotoha. My name is Kaguya Houraisan. That would be wonderful."

She is definitely going to peruse that file. All information is useful, whether it be simple or not. Kaguya will find some use out of it.

"Splendid."

[Kaguya is...pretty much unfazed by this. There are much weirder things in Gensokyo.]

I have no reason to be otherwise.

Kotoha has produced a small, functional laptop out of somewhere and is busily setting things up. As she turns the screen to face the video feed of the COMP, a map is revealed.

"Okay, so this is a general map of the city - there should be a copy in your COMP, but it's a bit tricky to find. I can give you a good rundown on the various districts, but the history is a little fuzzy - some kind of mass amnesia has made most of the native citizens kind of vague on anything that happened before the city got separated from the outside world."

That is a somewhat unusual response. Most people are quite angry or worried about their friends.

Kaguya waits oh so patiently while Kotoha works on setting it up. When she's shown the map, she looks over it curiously. Getting to know the layout of the city would be very useful, whether she's stuck here for a few days, or even years.

"I'm sure I can figure out all the functions of this device eventually." So far, it had seemed simple enough, but perhaps there was more to it that she didn't know yet. She seems a bit disappointed in the mention of mass amnesia. That was troubling. "Hm. Is there perhaps a written history? A library?"

My friends can handle themselves. I welcome new experiences such as this.

Then welcome to the fight for mankind's soul.

"Aquila Library is in the Aquarius district - there should be plenty of general history books there. The memory loss is only directly related to how the city ended up like this; there should be information on what's happened since then. Oh, right..."

A pair of documents are also sent to Kaguya's COMP.

"Someone's been maintaining a database on the stuff that's happened since us Visitors have started showing up; you might want to check it out."

A fight, you say? That sounds...interesting.

"This memory loss extends to written history as well?" Kaguya assumes that someone must not want them to know exactly what happened. Why that is, she has no clue, but it may be worth investigating in the future.

"That does sound promising. Are there many of us Visitors?"

"According to the official register, there's...sixty-five of us, but there's been an influx recently and they haven't fully updated yet, so the number might be as high as seventy."

"That's a fair amount, I suppose." Approximately seventy outsiders blending into an already populated city. It reminded her somewhat of Gensokyo. Outsiders were constantly being brought in, although they generally knew they were going there beforehand.

"What of your personal experiences here? What is daily life like?"

"Well, let's see...Most days I have school - it's mandatory for Visitors to continue their education now - but I go to Phoenix Free, which lets me be pretty flexible with my schedule. I have a couple of part-time jobs - this is one of them, actually - and I usually patrol with my team during the 13th Hour. Weekends, I help out at my friend Fumi's lab, go shopping, and work on some of my other projects. That's the general flow of things during downtime, anyway."

A shrug.

"Whenever something weird happens, the schedule goes right out the window. If you check the database I sent over, I've been here since...just before the memory swap thing."

Kaguya listens attentively as Kotoha speaks. While that was a schedule Kaguya would never be able to follow, as it seemed too busy, the girl certainly got around. So it seemed she was a reliable source of information.

"So I see. Am I expected to follow a similar schedule?"

She hoped not. Kaguya liked her free time.

"Depends on how old you are. If you've finished primary education you don't need to attend school. You might need to get a part-time job, though; the stipend the government provides isn't enough to buy luxuries unless you want to live entirely off instant noodles, and that much salt is bad for your health."

"Isn't it rude to ask a lady's age?" Kaguya certainly had been through some sort of primary education back on her time on the moon, although most of her learning was done through experience afterwards. The whole job thing, though. Ugh. Kaguya's never had to work a day in her life. Hopefully that wouldn't prove too problematic. Finding someone to buy her things should be easy enough.

"I'm just saying. You don't really look...hm, unfinished enough to be a teenager like me, honestly? You are quite beautiful, though."

Very matter-of-fact.

"If I didn't already have a girlfriend I'd probably be doing something embarrassing right now."

"Why thank you." She's going to leave out the whole story about exactly how admired she was in the past. As well as her age. Those were stories for another time.

"My my.~ At least you can show restraint, hm?"

Kotoha grins.

"Yup! More seriously, though, is there anything else you'd like to know?"

"I believe that's enough to get me through for now. It's likely I will have further questions once I've rested a bit."

It's only war.

This city doesn't appear to be in the throes of war. Is it a political battle, or is it simply preparing?
