He's asked this question before, in a different place, but he still wants answers. He's never found an answer that's satisfied him.]

Why do people think that killing people is wrong? Sometimes it's the fastest solution for a problem. Yeah, people will be sad, but they'll get over it. It's kind of a pain when people get so upset whenever it's brought up.

From the sound of it moral arguments aren't going to work, so I'll stick with "Causes more problems than it solves." But honestly I just kind of have a visceral aversion to it.

Why doesn't it stop them? Because everyone's code of morality is different, I suppose. Some place no value on life. Some place different values on different people.

Police attention, normal people's attention... people dying means questions get asked, even if no one's sure what happened. And you can't just solve that one by killing people; that just ends with everybody dead. [And you losing your hat. And any plan where you lose your hat is...?]

It's part of how I keep the Beast in check. [Whoops, he hadn't meant to say that.] Honestly, I just don't like it. I'll do it if I absolutely have to, but for some reason an awful lot of people seem to think it has to be done a lot more than I do. If I really need somebody dead, it means someone else has probably screwed up badly somewhere.

I grew up with a sword in my hand from the age of twelve or so. I was brought up in the yakuza, and I was an enforcer. Killing people was my job, and I was good at it. So it's not like it was ever seen as something bad. Annoying, but not bad.
