This place is just hilarious. Seriously, I can tell. Barrel of laughs a minute from here on out.

[Phantom Girl has swapped out her black and white costume for a dusty old tan jumpsuit and a whole lot of weird electronic equipment. Actually, she vaguely resembles......]

Apparently, 'helping the city' translates into 'ghost-hunting' today, which is just about the worst use of my superpowers I've ever heard. ...Maybe I need a new costume insignia. Anyway, I'm not egotistical enough to think I can handle everything on my own - I've only been here like, two weeks, and yeah, there's stuff in this crazy place I've never gone up against before.

So! ...Who wants to help me out? I can make it worth your while. Never hurts to have a bona fide superhero in your debt, right?

I've been hearing about this weird castle that turns all spooky at night. In the, uh... Leo district, I think it was? It's pretty recognizable. Lots of gold filigree and that kind of thing. If you think you're game, feel free to meet me there a few minutes before midnight.

I'll totally bring snacks.

I have not seen ghosts there, though I have visited it a few times.

The feed snaps on to reveal Kotoha looking thoughtful.

"Hm. Let's see, do I want to go explore a haunted castle...at night...with nobody around...with a girl I don't know?"

Slight pause as she gives Phantom Girl an appraising look before breaking out into a grin.

"Sounds fun!"

I think it's more about the spirit of the thing than the results. ...I don't actually believe in ghosts, you know?

Did you visit it during the '13th Hour' or whatever?

"...Golly. Why do I get the feeling I'm in good hands here?"

Sarcasm or not, she's relieved that someone will be accompanying her, at least. Solo missions were generally a bad idea.

"Well, if we're going to be working together... I'm Phantom Girl. Thanks for coming."

"You're welcome! My name's Kotoha. How are we going to do this?"

That I did. Mostly I just spent time getting lost.

...You do realize that some of us live in that castle, right?

If you have questions about the castle, you can ask me or Kairi. It's our home, after all. That and visiting it during the 13th hour isn't exactly a good idea.

...You live in a haunted castle? Are you sure that's a good idea for your, uh, extended life expectancy?

Um, I might be rethinking this plan if it's occupied by anything other than monsters. It's turned kind of awkward.

And I've got to visit some place that goes crazy during the 13th Hour, so... I'm guessing none of the options are really a good idea.

"Well. I'm thinking we fly in, hover around awkwardly for a little while waving these things around, then fly back out."

Phantom Girl gestures to her ghost-detecting gear.

"Of course, that being the plan, you'll probably want to prep for a half-dozen fights or so. I know how these things go."

That's usually not so much a problem with me, but I'll keep it in mind. Do the walls move around or something?

"First problem: I can't actually fly."

"I've set my cart up in a few places where there were insubstantial demons. Do you have to go to this specific building?"

It's not haunted... though I can't really explain what happens to it, my Master knows about it better than I do. Either way, I really wouldn't suggest trying to come inside during the 13th hour; you'll get lost and put in danger and end up on the roof when its all done. Only my Master can navigate properly during that time, and I don't know if she'd approve of what you're doing enough to want to help.

"It's a grave failing in most species, honestly. ...But I think I can fix that if you're game."

She adopts a slightly smug attitude as she crosses her arms.

"I mean, if you want to fly. We can walk through the haunted house, too, no big deal."

((I hadn't realized the castle was being used for anything! Sorry about that. The locale will be officially changed elsewhere, but I'll just keep the conversation going for now.))

Um. ...Right.

[It's probably rude to ask about slavery or anything along those lines. Phantom Girl bites her tongue on that one.]

Honestly, danger describes 90% of my life, anyway, so it wouldn't really be a huge issue. But I'm not going to go wandering around someone's house for something like this, you're right about that. Sorry.

Just out of curiosity, any special reason you moved into a random monster-infested castle?

"You know, I think it's only the mail that's supposed to work through rain or shine - not food carts. You're totally allowed to wheel it somewhere else when there are ghosts flying round."

Phantom Girl gives a shrug.

"Not really, but it's supposed to be a place that's only haunted at the 13th Hour."

And so, after flying around for more intel and a few last minute phone calls for rearrangements, Phantom Girl lands gently on the ground with her stockpile of bizarre electronics, none of which she knew how to use. They made weird sounds when they turned on; that was probably the important thing.

It is a few minutes before the 13th Hour, and she stands in the Leo district, staring at what appears to be a perfectly normal building. Residents had sworn, though, that disembodied sobbing could be heard most nights.

Good sign for a ghost hunt.

"Oh, I don't mind flying! But, uh...hm. How to put this."

Kotoha thinks for a few moments.

"...guess I'll go with blunt. Do you have any actual experience with exploring haunted houses?"

"Ah, but people need to eat, even during the 13th hour. Even ghosts need to eat sometimes, its bad business to discriminate."

"...Do we have haunted houses in my time at all?"

The answer should be clear from there.

"...I thought the point of being a ghost was that you were dead. ...So, you know. No food required."

"I don't pretend to understand, I merely sell my wares. That being said I've learned to handle myself as well should you need assistance."

"Well. I won't turn down a friendly offer." She gives a smile. "But if you start feeding the ghosts instead of hunting them, I might be a little bit annoyed."

A pause.

"Actually, what do I care? This isn't even something I want to be doing, so. Eh."
