This place is just hilarious. Seriously, I can tell. Barrel of laughs a minute from here on out.

[Phantom Girl has swapped out her black and white costume for a dusty old tan jumpsuit and a whole lot of weird electronic equipment. Actually, she vaguely resembles......]

Apparently, 'helping the city' translates into 'ghost-hunting' today, which is just about the worst use of my superpowers I've ever heard. ...Maybe I need a new costume insignia. Anyway, I'm not egotistical enough to think I can handle everything on my own - I've only been here like, two weeks, and yeah, there's stuff in this crazy place I've never gone up against before.

So! ...Who wants to help me out? I can make it worth your while. Never hurts to have a bona fide superhero in your debt, right?

I've been hearing about this weird castle that turns all spooky at night. In the, uh... Leo district, I think it was? It's pretty recognizable. Lots of gold filigree and that kind of thing. If you think you're game, feel free to meet me there a few minutes before midnight.

I'll totally bring snacks.

"Okay, I will take that as a no. So! Quick tip about ghosts: a lot of the time, they set up these weird labyrinth things, and they get really upset if you try to bypass them."

A pause.

"Like, we're talking about 'constantly physically and psychically assaulted until you are out of range' kind of upset. Half the time it's actually safer to walk into the haunted house."

"It would be easier to hunt them if they were fully fed instead of hungry and on the hunt themselves. Still, I don't think I'll be bringing the cart, the other.... Package... Wouldn't fit in one of those buildings."

"Um."

Phantom Girl squints for a moment or two.

"You're saying if we don't spring some kinda weird ghost trap, they'll get mad at us? I'm not really into playing along for the heck of it or anything. Wouldn't it still just be easier to sort of run in and wave this stuff around and run back out, anyway?"

"...From what I've been hearing, I have a feeling they'd prefer to eat you instead of any noodle packs you might have. Can you please just bring some kind of weapon or something?"

SHRUG

"It's not always a trap! First haunted house I ever explored, she just wanted to make sure whoever reached the end was strong and brave enough to fulfill her request."

Kotoha examines the building closely before nodding to herself and drawing a pink sphere the size of a softball out of her bag. She presses the button on the front and throws it into the air, causing it to release a torrent of sparkling pink light, which resolves itself into a humanoid black-and-blue jackal.

"Okay, Arthur, we're exploring a haunted house again!"

"I had 2 pistols in my jacket when I was serving you, why wouldn't I bring them here?"

"Well... Let's just see what we're up against here first, and we can decide on a strategy if they start launching labyrinths at us. ...We might not even find anything at all."

She was of the opinion that it would mostly just be monsters.

I've been to a few spooky, haunted-looking places before, but they were infested with Risen and not ghosts. Seeing a real ghost could be interesting if you still need someone else along!

"They shoot bullets, right?"

And not noodles.

"I'm thinking if there are ghosts, though - and there probably won't even be any - shooting ghosts doesn't usually work out too well, either. Just be careful."

"Hey. Good to have you a -- "

...Phantom Girl pauses as she watches Kotoha do her thing.

"...I thought those were supposed to explode out of your head or something."

Is Risen a euphemism for zombie? It sounds like zombies.

Um... I've got a few people coming along already, but sure, why not? The more the merrier. ...We might even have enough people to go in teams or something; it'd be faster that way.

[Obviously Phantom Girl doesn't watch horror movies.]

If a zombie is a dead person that's still walking around and trying to kill you... yes!

[Morgan doesn't even know what a horror movie is. This will go excellently.] Sounds great! Then where will we be meeting up? And my name is Morgan, by the way.

I think we'll meet right at the entrance to the Leo district around... 11:50? It should give us enough time to prepare.

I'm Phantom Girl. It's nice to meet you, Morgan.

"Sure thing. See you there, then!"

Kotoha chuckles. Even though she's a relative newcomer herself, it's fun confusing newbies.

"Arthur's a Pokemon - a Lucario, if you want to be specific. This is my Persona!"

And with that, she summons Victini, a blue glow surrounding her.

"Of course, confusingly enough, my Persona is also a Pokemon, just not a physical one."

((no problem at all! i half considered approaching you about them busting in and finding the cast sitting in the main area all ?!?! but none of them wouldve been outside of their rooms near midnight so they wouldnt get caught in castle oblivion uwu))

[Kairi has never considered how someone might misconstrue her calling Aqua 'Master'. Oops.]

It's a castle from our world, think of it like a training facility to learn more about our particular abilities under the guidance of a Master. I'm not entirely sure why it gets all weird at night, but we're all right every other hour and we aren't affected if we stay in our rooms until it's over. It can get a little awkward, but it's otherwise great and has awesome stuff to train with.

"Yes. They shoot bullets. I also have my persona. Trust me, I'm not worried, even without Trombe."

"See ya."

[And then Phantom Girl makes an awkward call about an hour later explaining the actual circumstances behind the 'haunted castle' whoops but it's all good.]

Oh, you mean that kind of -- Right. Phew.

I think I mostly get what you mean, though I'd still probably personally sleep somewhere else. Imagine needing to use the restroom at the wrong time.

"...What's Trombe? An instrument?"

She has a feeling that's what he vaguely wants her to ask about.

"...Um."

She arches an eyebrow as Kotoha summons her ethereal Pokemon, taking a half-step back. Victini isn't exactly something she would assume to be prime fighting material; she vaguely wonders what it means when one's soul is small, adorable, and squeaky.

"Well. Looks like you've got the summoned monster part pretty well covered. I'm still new here, so I'll probably be relying mostly on what I'm used to."

"Alright! I'll just set everything on fire with my mind!"

This is accompanied by a cheerful waggle of her eyebrows to indicate she is joking.

Mostly.

"Wouldn't be the first time I've seen it. Just aim away from me - the cape is kinda flammable."

The girl shrugs as she dumps a large portion of her gear on the ground.

"...Anyway, we're waiting for a few more to show up - And for the 13th Hour to come, of course. There might be enough to have split up and cover more ground or something, even..."

"Phantom Girl"? That's an unusual name. [Or maybe it's just a ghost-hunting title?] But it's nice to meet you too! I'll see you tonight, then.
