What do you do when you put together the pieces of a mystery, and it all points towards you being the person that everyone dislikes, the one whose motives or ambitions are counter to everyone else's?

I don't suppose there's any villainous-types here who might shed some light on this state of being...

Traditionally, not very well... I guess my only good advice is to accept the portion of the blame which is yours, and no more than that, or you'll drive yourself crazy.

And how do you determine how much of the blame is yours?

I'm not even really sure what falls under the category of 'blame' in this case either...

I've no idea if I've ever drank before, but if it's a new start, new experiences are rampant. I may take you up on that.

[That's suspiciously introspective. He's wondering who's tapping in... but he supposes he'll find out one way or another.]

Then they're welcome to it, though I'm not particularly in the mood to discuss it outside of what I have planned.

[The feed cuts here, and Terra does his best to ignore the apprehension he's feeling. Taking a steadying breath, he heads straight for the library he knows Xehanort works at.

He could always say he was looking for a good story to read, if asked why he's there.]

[Xehanort loves the library. He loves working with books even if it's drudge work like sorting them or putting them away. He's at it right now, climbing up one of the rigging-ladders to put some books away up high. There's a cart waiting below, and he drops off of the ladder neatly next to it, gripping the handle tightly in his hands and giving the cart a good push...

Then he jumps onto the back of the cart as it rolls rapidly, a rather silly expression on his face. He leans his feet down to brake after a few moments, stopping at the next section of books, to repeat the same process.]

[Y'know. That actually looks fun. Really fun. It was probably something he would've done a few years back, if he'd had the means and didn't think he would be caught.

As apprehensive as he is about starting the inevitable conversation, catching Xehanort at something like this is a pretty good lead-in.

He sounds just as amused as looks when he speaks up.] Having fun over there?

[Woah, when did Terra get here?]

[He looks up from the cart with an almost sheepish expression - caught in the act, it's hard to make it seem like something else. He casually reaches into the cart to grab some books, scanning them before sauntering over to the shelf to put them away. Just like he was totally going to do anyway!!

It's odd to see Terra here though. No offense to his brother, but Terra really didn't seem like the sort to enjoy literature. He figured that he was the one who got the bookish, intellectual pursuits in their siblingdom.]

If you don't enjoy what you do, then there's no reason to do it, right?

[Have a cheeky smile, bro.]

[No offense taken--Terra usually isn't the type to enjoy literature. Call it a side-effect of trying to get a book when you were younger off the top shelf without a ladder and falling, bringing down two or three shelves of books along with you.

The recent Junes Invasion debacle hadn't helped his opinion on the written word much, either, but that seemed to be acknowledged city-wide as 'good fuel for fires'.

He still enjoyed a good epic quest story from time to time, but... he tried not to be too obvious about it.

He laughs slightly in response. He doesn't disapprove of your cart-riding shenanigans, just finds them incredibly amusing.] True enough. I'd probably be doing the same thing if I could.

[He glances over at the shelves, and notes that right now, they're in the Fiction section. And there aren't a lot of people around.

Good.] So... I'm at a disadvantage in here. You have any recommendations for a rock-head like me?

[Going back to the cart, he picked up another couple books, checking them over before slotting them back on their shelves. It hadn't taken long for him to learn the filing system, and committing it to memory had been something of a game.

Terra really was looking for a book? Xehanort glanced at him carefully, considering, before a grin crossed his face.]

We're not in the kids' section, so these books won't have pictures... I hope that's okay.

[He only has a fairly broad picture of Terra, but hunches are hunches and he decides to run with it until proven otherwise.]

I think there's a couple series I could recommend, though they're not short by any means.

[Well... he might as well, since he's here. And... hell. Aqua'd be proud of him if he actually cracked open a book more than once every couple of years.

Eye-roll.] I think I'll manage.

[... okay, curious now.] Long's fine; I don't like rushing through a good story if I can help it.

[When he feels like reading, anyway.]

[He starts to push the cart along normally, leading Terra a couple of aisles over. It's still weird that he's here, though Xehanort feels a bit smug at having something over him for a chance.]

It's a fairly popular series, though it's older so the writing might be a bit difficult. It's high fantasy though - swordplay, magic, that sort of thing.

Think about it for a few hundred years and you might have a clearer idea.

We're over in Taurus. Look for the Penguin's Nest, can't miss it. I ain't in the business of judgin' folk, neither, 'long as you got cash in your pocket.

I'd say it depends. What do you want to do?

[Xehanort. Bro. Do you see the interest in his expression? You had him at 'high fantasy'. Swordplay? Magic?

Once their destination is reached, Terra takes a look at the books that his 'twin' is indicating, curious about whether the titles might give something more away about the nature of the tale within.

It's a grouping of five books by the same author, but three of them seem to share the same primary title. He takes one off the shelf and looks it over briefly before flipping open to the first page.] 'The Lord of the Rings'... sounds interesting enough...

[Terra, quit putting off the conversation you want to have.]

... do people actually live that long?

I suppose that's the crux of the thing. I don't know what I want to do... I'm not sure how to even react.

[And there's a chuckle. Dawww Terra, you're almost cute like this.]

They're quite good. From what I understand they're 'classics' too. They're quite popular, so I'd definitely suggest. Those three are all part of the same set, and there's a prequel and then a more rambling one that talks about the creation of their particular world and its earlier history.

[He is quite fine with not having that convo though...]

Not me. I was in Hell.

So being there kept you from aging or dying or other such things? What a strange place...

Aaah, that's not what I meant. Do you believe that people go to Heaven or Hell after they die? It's the most common belief where I'm from - eternal reward for the good and eternal torture for the bad.
